The pictures from the Martian lander, 'Spirit', are damn stonking. It would be most cool to have one of them.

Actually, it would be great. Instead of all the palaver hauling the telescope outside, colliminating the mirrors and spending ages trying to focus the thing in freezing cold temperatures, I could sit in the warm and control my little rover from the comfort of soft furnishings. I wouldn't have to worry about the vividly orange sky, or my neighbour's 200 gigawatt exterior lights blocking everything out, or falling down random garden holes, or those weird noises that eminate from the fence and freak me out. My tea wouldn't go cold in 15 seconds, and there would be none of those lots of layers of clothes constriction problems.
