Oh yes. The builders and their fleet of blue and white vans have gone. It's great not being woken up at 7am by the builder's banging and Nokia ring-tones. I do, however, miss the petty squabbles that they used to have about paint and pipes, the amateurish insults they used to shout at us and the slagging off of their client's apparently tacky interior design.

Emma Rose, the diamond-like environmental health officer who kindly asked the next-doors to please shut-up and show a bit of consideration, rules considerably and deserves a payrise. I'm shall purchase giveemmaroseapayrise.co.uk and point it at the Environmental Health site.

Now the nice-turned-nuts neighbours who lived on the left appear to have ditched their plans for extensions and gardens with Vegas-styleed statuettes, and have now moved back into their old house on the right. After a brief attempt to sell the house on the left, they're now trying to rent it out for a slightly over-the-top rate, but don't seem to be having much joy. Crying shame, that.
