It's from Barcelona

After blowing up my 2 year old router a few weeks ago, SMC have sent me a nice, shiny new Barricade all the way from Barcelona. It's the same model as the old one, but has a much prettier interface and now it can forward ranges of ports instead of me typing in each individual one. Woohoo.
In a way it's a shame as I quite enjoyed my switch and Smoothwall combo, what with it telling me that the NIC was promiscuous, like some sort of PCB tart. Typing 'shutdown now' was also strangley satisfying. I miss command lines.
On the other hand, due to limitation in network cable lengths, I couldn't have Xbox Live with Mr Smoothwall. With the return of the router I can. Rar.
In other really boring news, whilst flipping through the local rag today I also noticed that the nice-turned-nuts neighbour's house is still up as 'House of the Week' for what must be the sixth week running. Being ever-observant I also noticed that there's a ever-so-slighty improved photo of the house that needs a bit of levels adjustment trickery in Photoshop, and the price has gone down by £100 pcm. However, for some reason the blurb describes the house as 'large'. Which it isn't, unless you're a mouse. It's more of a 'cosy'.
